Hey, my name is Belicia Parra, I’m a Freshmen, and this is my first year of cheer. I’m very excited about learning all the cheers, stunts, and skills that are needed to be a cheerleader. Some other things I’m excited for are meeting new people, getting to know all the cheerleaders on the squad, football players and even the drill team. Some of my interests are singing, dancing, acting, and cheering. But one of the things I’m really pumped up about is cheering at the football games, because I want to show my school pride and spirit for our squad.

Being a cheerleader takes true dedication and lots of practice. Through cheerleading I have gained a positive attitude, self-confidence, and school pride. Cheerleading at ERHS has created so many great high school memories for me to look back on. Honestly, what would high school be without cheerleaders? I have extremely high expectations for our upcoming squad. We have such an amazing group of girls that all have one special thing in common, we love to dance. I cannot wait for the 2011 Football Season. Let’s Go Big Green*

14. Ferrer, Jacqueline 12
My name is Jacqueline Ferrer and I'm a junior at Eagle Rock High School. My freshmen and sophomore year I was a member of Eagle Rock's Drill team. After two years in drill team I was encouraged by one of Eagle Rock's teacher and by some family members to try something new, I then tried out for Eagle Rock's cheer. I was happy to find out I made cheer and didn't know what to expect. I was happy to join such a welcoming team and a very inspirational coach. This upcoming year I'm really looking forward to making the new girls feel welcomed the same way I was, to have new friends, and to be surprised with the new season's experiences.
15. Gonzalez, Gina 12
My name is Gina Gonzalez I was part of the 2010-2011 Eagle Rock High School Cheer Squad. I’ve only had one year of cheer experience. I decided to try out for cheer at the end of my sophomore year because I thought it would be cool to experience a new sport. I’ve never gone to professional dance classes or anything but I have danced at home when the music comes on and I begin just to move! I’m happy that I am a part of the cheerleading squad because if it wasn’t for cheer, I wouldn’t have met the amazing girls I know call my friends. Dancing and cheering during pep rallies is so exciting, performing in front of the entire school is just the greatest feeling. I look forward to this season and cheering for our football players!

Hello, my name is Olivia Kenney. I’ve been on the varsity cheerleading squad for one year now, the 2010-2011 squad. It’s been a wonderful experience, meeting new friends, acquiring new skills, and having a lot fun. I enjoy the football games and pep rallies the most, seeing the crowd, being with your friends, and giving your all into a performance is the most amazing feeling. For the current season I’m looking forward to the new dances and expanding the skills that I received from last year. The new aspects and ideas in cheer are amazing you are in for a treat. Can’t wait for next season; let’s go eagles!
17. Levitsky, Katerina 12
Hey, my name is Katerina Levitsky. Most people just call me Kat. I am getting pumped up for my senior year at Eagle Rock High. It is now my third yearon the Eagle Rock cheer squad. Only my second year on Varsity! One of my best qualities, that came in handy when trying out for cheer, is my huge gymnastics background. I competed in gymnastics for 6 years before finally becoming a cheerleader. Although I don’t compete anymore, I still use my gymnastics skills to my advantage during cheer pep rallies and football games.
18. Lord, Katie 12
Hi, My name is Katie Lord! I will be a senior next year at Eagle Rock. I am going into my fourth year on the Eagle Rock cheer squad. I started out on JV my freshman year as captain, and moved up to Varsity my sophomore year. But cheer is not my only interest. I also like dancing. I started out in ballet and eventually moved to other dance styles. This background really helped my skills needed for cheer. I also took gymnastics as a child, learning a lot of the basics. And now, those basic moves for a gymnast really come in handy for our performances!
19. Mejia, Melody 12
Joining cheer this year, I feel like I can expect great things from this squad. Everyone's very talented and yet, still aiming to do better. We're all working really hard to get down the basic cheers and dancing to be able to focus on stunting and really shine through with that. Cheer is very fun and although some may think it shouldn't be considered a sport, it's tough, and if they'd try it for at least a week, they'd see why.
20. Olano, Justine 12
Hi my name is Justine Olano and I'm a junior. I've been in Eagle Rock Cheer for a year now and for my senior year it'll be two years. I've been dancing since I was young and still am. Growing up I've always wanted to be in drill then go into cheer because watching my older sister do it, I've always wanted to try, but never did. So being an Eagle Rock Cheerleader would be my only experience and it's been really fun.
21. Pallares, Ashley 12
Hello my name is Ashley Paralles and I’m currently a student at Eagle Rock High School. I have been in cheer for 3 years now and this will be my 4th. I consider cheer to be an amazing sport, especially to those of us who enjoy dancing. I’ve been dancing since I was a young girl and I love the way I’m able to express how I’m feeling through dance. Not only have I been in cheer, but I have also done Drill team for 5 years. Cheer and Drill are very different but are both great teams in their own unique way. I have many aspirations and dancing sure does happen to be one. Music is love to my ears and for those of us dancers, we’ll be able to rule the world with our feet one day. Dance is such a powerful art and it’s amazing to see how the body is capable of moving, dance moves are endless and any move can be so strong because behind every move, there’s an emotion in which created that move. Cheer is such a fun and positive sport, because win or lose you always know you supported you’re team and you cheered your heart. I’m definitely looking forward to see what this year’s squad has to offer and I’m sure it’ll be an incredible experience for all the new upcoming cheerleaders. I love everything about this sport I’m counting down the days till my girls and I finally get to step on that football field and show everyone what we’re made of.
22. Pimentel, Victoria 12
Hola, my name is Victoria Pimentel and I have only been in ERHS cheer for one year, the 2010-2011 squads. Now, I have been given the opportunity to continue it in my senior year. I think one of the beauties of being on this squad is that you get to know more about yourself and you are able to grow into your own identity, which defines you. When we are at the football games or pep rallies I give it all I got with the cheers we perform. Another important part of cheer are the dances and I have always loved to dance. I first was taught ballet at a very young age then stopped taking classes. I then decided to join the ERHS dance team in 9th grade and continue dancing for cheer. Sadly, this last year on the squad is also my last year in high school and I have chosen to continue studying in order to become an obstetrician. It will take a while to get there but I am willing to fight every obstacle in my way in order to reach my goal.
23. Point, Allyson 12
My name is Allyson Point. I’ve been cheering for four years, three years at Eagle Rock and one year in a competition squad. I love to dance. This is going to be my last year of cheer, so I look forward to our squad being together, making sure everyone has fun, and most of all improving our stunts. I love cheering for Eagle Rock, and I’m sad for it being my last year.
24. Rapanut, Peggy 12
My junior year, I joined the cheer squad. I never had any experience, but I've always enjoyed dancing for fun. I'm a very loud and energetic person, so I thought joining the squad would be fun and also a memorable thing to do in high school. I haven't regretted it at all since then. I enjoy being part of a squad with people that feel like family. I'm currently a senior, and I'm hoping my final year will be the best.
25. Ruiz, Alicia 12
My name is Alicia Ruiz, better known as Ali. This is my 4th year being involved in Eagle Rock cheer. Most of the time no one thinks of me to be a cheerleader because I’m a greaser and don’t fit the profile of a cheerleader. I look forward to all the fun times in cheer.
26. Trujillo, Genissa 12
My name is Genissa Trujillo, I am currently a junior; Class of 2012! Well, this will be my first and last year as an Eagle Rock High School cheerleader and I’m super excited! I know for sure that my senior year will be nothing but fun. I was so ecstatic when I found out I made the squad because I know it takes a lot of effort to be and ERHS cheerleader. One thing I’m looking forward to being on the squad is the bonding and the friendships that will be grown. These girls are a blast and I will never forget them. I hope we become really close. I also hope to get to kno Ms. Ruiz. She is a strong woman and she’s much more than just a coach. Being on the cheer squad is going to be an awesome experience and I can’t wait. Let’s Go EAGLES!
27. EAGLE ?
Is that a bird?! Is that a plane?! NO! It’s the Eagle!
Hey there, my name is eagle! I have been Eagle Rock High School’s JV/Varsity mascot for the past 2 years, this being my third year. I started out as a baby eagle, learning the dance moves and the cheers on the side of each pep rally and football game. However throughout these past hundred football games and pep rallies, I can definitely say that I’ve grown into a great majestic EAGLE ROCK EAGLE. I’ve danced and cheered in the most describable weather conditions any mascot has gone through, whether it is dealing with the blazing 100 degree sun, cold and dark rainy days, or even crazy winds. My inner diva also definitely comes out every time my foot steps on our field and quad, and also every time I dance with each teacher and faculty member of our school. Many different people approach me, with different emotions and different reasons, whether it be to thank, hug, harass, dance, or even ask for a piggy ride to class. I’ve been present at many different school events, whether it be a football game, an alumni event, basketball game, and even the overnight cancer walk, held at Eagle Rock High School. However, as all good things come to an end and my final year approaches, and my time to graduate around the corner of the year 2012, I know my time to surrender my crown is almost up; therefore, the only way to end this bittersweet last year of mine, is with a BANG What is it you ask? Well, you’re just going to have to find out. All there is to say so far is that it’s a moment you’re not going to want to miss. Keep your eyes and wings wide open, cause you’ll never what’s going to end up flying through the quad one day!
